protesters
It's so sad that everybody that protests has to be labelled a protester. Imagine if you were in a situation where your working conditions were terrible. And you could see that the company was screwing you and your co-workers...but when you tried to explain to your colleagues on why you were getting screwed, and they all believed you, the company labelled you a cancer of the work place...now everybody else who has children to feed, or what not, has to stay away from you for fear of losing their job, while in reality, if everybody went to the management and voiced their displeasure, the management would realize how bad it would be if you, all your colleagues, and everyone else applying for a job didn't want to get screwed...management would shape up in a hurry. They are fucking with your fears. A great president once said, "the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself:" without fear you can realize your dreams, no matter how lofty. Don't ever FUCKING forget that!

How true - it is a way that Big Brother to keep you in line - by declaring you a malcontent.
Why did blacks riot during the 1960s? They had nothing to lose. One outcome was the rich allowed the middle class to own more homes and cars - now, when you find yourself in a rotten job or a low paying one you are much less likely to complain about working conditions because you now have a mortgage to pay for and a car payment to pay for, and you don't want to put that stuff at risk.
We are allowed 'free' speech for a reason. It lets off steam. Societies that are denied free speech usually erupt in violence or revolution. That's why the US has the perfect dictatorship - the rich control everything and the middle class and poor think they have a say in things.
That's why I can call Bush a jerk. Many will say I have a 'right' to say that and the government won't care, its only if a few more start joining me that the govenment will start to care and their power apepars threatened.
